Packard Bell launches quad-core gaming laptop

Over the past few years we’ve seen quite a few budget machines from Packard Bell - PC World’s in-house brand. The iPower GX marks a new direction for the company, however, as it targets the gaming market.

As such, you’ll find a sharp 1920 x 1200 pixel 17-inch display, ideal for gaming and high-definition media playback. It’s supported by a high-end nVidia GeForce 9800M GTS graphics card, with enough power to play the latest titles with ease.

Surprisingly for a company more accustomed to the budget end of the laptop market, this machine also features a powerful Intel Core 2 Quad processor and up to 4096MB of memory, promising outstanding multi-tasking capabilities.

Styling is similar to existing gaming laptops, with a combination of bright colours, glossy plastics and brushed aluminium. You'll find a 320GB hard drive included as standard, with future options to include an integrated Blu-ray drive and up to 640GB of storage.
